Happy National Dumpling Day! On September 26, today serves up a delicious treat to celebrate. Dumplings are becoming more popular all of the time. Whether enjoyed as an appetizer or as the main course, each morsel satisfies!
One of the beautiful things about dumplings is the flavor and variety. The endless possibilities the dumpling offers in shape and taste make it a favorite dish around the world.
Dumplings consist of small pieces of dough. Generally, but not always, the dough is wrapped around a filling.
Both flavor and cooking methods factor into the wide variety of dumplings available. Ingredients include flour, potatoes or bread and may also consist of meat, fish, vegetables, or sweets.
Popular methods of cooking include boiling, steaming, simmering, and even frying. While dumplings are often eaten alone, they’re a delicious addition to soups and stews as well.
HOW TO OBSERVE
Serve an entire meal of dumplings. Start with appetizers. Follow them with a soup course and then the main dish.
Lastly, wrap it up with a sweet dessert. Be sure to invite friends to enjoy the celebration with you! Take photos and post them on social media using #NationalDumplingDay.
