May 6 - International Bubble Blowing Day

Happy International Bubble Blowing Day!  On May 6, at many places all over the world and on several grounds, there will probably be billions of soap bubbles blown!

The deep breathing required to blow bubbles is great for relaxation and stress relief.

Also, the particular type of breathing used to blow bubbles—pursed-lip breathing— increases pressure on the airways, which helps keep them open.

A pursed-lip exhale more thoroughly exhausts the air in your lungs, leaving more room for fresh inhaled air. This results in better circulation in the respiratory system.

Blowing bubbles may bring back stress-relieving thoughts of childhood as well. Just make sure that younger kids are not around to pop them as you reminisce.

For magic and fun, grieve and happiness, short term and lasting memories, individual and feeling part of the world community.

If a butterfly can influence the world, what could happen when everybody is blowing bubbles at the same time?

Blow bubbles in the memory of someone, world peace or maybe for another personal reason. Everyone can join in, on one’s balcony, boat, and garden, in the woods or in the street.

Make your bubbles last longer with no kids trying to pop them. Together with others or on your own. Feel welcome, unbound and light.

Blowing bubbles is fun for everyone and is a great activity for community members to meet and share in a relaxed, fun social environment.

Many of the activities in the kids’ bubble handouts would work well for family activities.

Today is the day that the world shall be surrounded by magic.
