This time of year, our flower gardens should be in full bloom. Keeping them hydrated sometimes seems like a fulltime job.
It’s often a therapeutic business, caring for a living thing. The more they’re nurtured, the more they thrive.
It’s important to know whether your flowers like damp soil or to be more on the drier side. Newly planted seeds will need daily watering until germination.
Most plants prefer well-drained soil. If they are potted, they may require daily watering. However, if they are planted in the ground or are heat resistant plants, they may require less frequent watering.
The holiday also offers an opportunity to care for the gardens of those who may be homebound or in the hospital. Take the time to visit a friend who may need some cheering up by bringing them some freshly watered flowers.
HOW TO OBSERVE

HISTORY
National Day Calendar® continues researching the origins of this gardening holiday. However, there are plenty more garden celebrations to explore!
