April 14 - 108th Titanic Anniversary

One hundred and eight years ago today, the British passenger luxury liner R.M.S Titanic foundered beneath the icy waters of the North Atlantic Ocean on April 14-15, 1912.

This occurred during the doomed vessel’s first and final ill-fated maiden voyage from Southampton, England to New York City, New York.

Titanic hit an iceberg at 11:40 p.m., taking two hours and forty minutes to sink. It was finally submersed at 2:20 a.m. on April 15.

Originally designed to carry sixty-four lifeboats, the ship ended up with only twenty.

Of the 2,200 souls onboard, 1,500 souls perishedwhile only seven hundred and five survived.

To the deceased who perished within the freezing waters, rest in peace.
