February 5 - Errol Morris


Happy 72nd Birthday, Errol Morris! Born today in 1948 as Errol Mark Morris, this American film director primarily makes documentaries examining and investigating, among other things, authorities and eccentrics.  
  
Morris is best known for writing and directing the 1988 American documentary drama/mystery film 'The Thin Blue Line', of which is cited among the best and most influential documentaries ever made. 
  
Morris is also best known for producing and directing the 1997 American documentary film 'Fast, Cheap & Out of Control'. 
  
In the early 2000s, Morris co-produced and directed the 2003 American war/historical documentary film 'The Fog of War: Eleven Lessons from the Life of Robert S. McNamara'. 

The following year, it won an Oscar for Best Documentary Feature at the 76th Academy Awards in late February of 2004. 
  
Morris has been active from 1978–present.
