Happy Birthday, Terry Jones! Born today in 1942 as Terence Graham Parry Jones, this Welsh historian, comedian, writer, actor, screenwriter and film director was a member of the British surreal comedy team Monty Python.
Jones is best known for co-writing, co-directing and co-starring in the 1975 British comedy fantasy/adventure film 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail' and for co-starring, co-writing and directing the 1979 British comedy/satire film 'Monty Python's Life of Brian' (also known as 'Life of Brian').
In 2015, Jones was diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia, a form of frontotemporal dementia that impairs the ability to speak and communicate. Five years later, he passed from dementia in Highgate, London, England United Kingdom on January 21, 2020. This was just twelve days from Jones' 78th birthday. He was 77.
Jones had been active from 1966–2016.
